Do I need a visa to travel to Mongolia?

Many nationalities do not need a visa to enter Mongolia for tourism. However, requirements differ by country. Please check Mongolia’s official immigration website or ask the Gobi Raid team for assistance before booking your motorcycle tour.

Do I need an international driving license to join the tour?

Yes. An international driving permit (IDP) with motorcycle endorsement is recommended for all riders. Your home country license must also allow motorcycle riding of 400cc and above.

What motorcycle will I ride during the tour?

All Gobi Raid tours use the latest Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 motorcycles. These bikes are reliable, lightweight, comfortable, and ideal for Mongolia’s desert, steppe, and gravel terrain.

Is the Gobi Raid motorcycle tour suitable for beginners?

Our tours require basic motorcycle experience. You do not need to be an expert off-road rider, but you should feel comfortable riding on gravel and loose surfaces. A full safety briefing and technique coaching are provided before the tour.

What is included in the Gobi Raid tour package?

Each tour includes the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 motorcycle, fuel, a private chef, support vehicles, mechanics, professional guides, accommodations, permits, drinking water, and all meals during the ride. Airport pickup is also included.

What kind of accommodation is provided?

Accommodation during the tour includes traditional Mongolian ger camps, boutique lodges, and hotels in Ulaanbaatar. Ger camps offer private beds, warm duvets, meals, and shared washroom facilities.

What should I bring for a motorcycle tour in Mongolia?

We recommend bringing your riding gear (helmet, gloves, jacket, boots), hydration pack, sunglasses, sunscreen, personal medication, and warm layers. A complete packing list will be sent to you after booking.

Yes. Safety is our top priority. Gobi Raid provides a full safety briefing before departure, support vehicles with recovery tools, satellite communication, trained guides, mechanics, med-kits, and daily bike checks.

What about food and drinking water during the tour?

A dedicated private chef travels with the group. All meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—are freshly prepared. Unlimited bottled drinking water is included throughout the tour.

How much is the deposit and how do I book?

A $500 deposit secures your motorcycle. You can book directly at gobi-raid.mn/booking. Early bookings may qualify for special offers or discounts.

How big are the riding groups?

Most Gobi Raid tours operate with 8–14 riders. This ensures safety, comfortable pacing, personalized guidance, and a premium experience.

What if my motorcycle breaks down?

Our support vehicles carry tools, spare parts, and a professional mechanic. If a bike has a technical problem, it will be repaired immediately or replaced so your tour continues smoothly.

Can non-riders or passengers join the tour?

Yes. Non-riders may join the tour inside the support vehicles and still enjoy the full Gobi Raid experience including meals, activities, and cultural visits.

When is the best time of year to ride in Mongolia?

The ideal riding season is from June to September when the weather is dry, warm, and perfect for off-road motorcycle travel.
